The villages of Flachau and Wagrain are lively and offer cosy après-ski. St. Johann is more of a town than a village, with floodlit slopes and a toboggan run. The other villages are more quitet but picturesque.
The individual areas all have their own level of difficulty, giving you the feeling of skiing in a different area every day. In Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann there are mainly wide, flat pistes. Challenging slopes can be found in Altenmarkt and Zauchensee. Filzmoos is very child-friendly. In cosy Kleinarl there is a great snow park. Flachau is the livelier part of this ski area. So there is something for every taste.
Ski Amade
Salzburger Sportwelt is part of Ski amadé (705km) & SuperSkiCard (2687km)
In the Salzburger Sportwelt there are fun parks with halfpipe, quarterpipe, boardercross, kickers, tables, boxes and rails. Freeriding is allowed here. For example, there is the Absolut Park in Kleinarl and the Fun Park Betterpark in St. Johann.
You can enjoy wonderful cross-country skiing in the Salzburger Sportwelt.
There are over 230 kilometres of pistes. The area around Filzmoos is seen as a true hiking and cross-country skiing paradise. From this village you can also go on balloon rides and dog sled races. You can also go snowshoeing, sledding, tobogganing and ice climbing. There is a large indoor swimming paradise in Wagrain
Throughout the ski area there are mountain huts where you can comfortably have a coffee, go for lunch or just relax. From the huts you have a wonderful view and can enjoy the sun outside.
In Flachau, the snow bars are ready for a good schnapps. There are various bars, clubs and discos here for a cosy party. The Hofstadl and Fire & Ice are the well-known cafés in town. In Wagrain there is the Tenne and the Riverside for a cosy evening. The Happy Alm in Filzmoos and the Schirmbar in Kleinarl also offer a good opportunity for a nice evening after skiing.
