A trail for beginners starts in Ochtensgarten. It is over 5 kilometres long. In total there are over 140 km of cross-country trails in the Ötztal.

Hochoetz is an excellent place for paragliding in both summer and winter, weather permitting.

Winter Hiking:
The Ötztal valley offers a varied hiking area with paths past waterfalls, mountain lakes and through forests. Popular destinations include the Piburger See, the Stuibenfall waterfall in Niederthai and the summit of the Hohe Mut in Obergurgl.
